　　中國教育工作者早就認識到讀書對于國家的重要意義。有些教育工作者2003年就建議設立全國讀書日。他們強調，人們應當讀好書，尤其是經典著作。通過閱讀，人們能更好地學會感恩、有責任心和與人合作，而教育的目的正是要培養這些基本素質。閱讀對于中小學生尤為重要，假如他們沒有在這個關鍵時期培養閱讀的興趣，以后要養成閱讀的習慣就很難了。

　　Chinese educators have realized the significance of reading to our country for a long time. As early as 2003, some educators had suggested setting up the National Book and Copyright Day. They emphasized that people should read good books, especially the classics. By reading books, people can better learn to be grateful, be more responsible and cooperative, and the precise purpose of education is to cultivate these basic qualifies. What’s more, reading is particularly important for primary and middle school students. If they fail to cultivate the interest in reading during this crucial period, it will be difficult for them to develop reading habit in the later time.

　　這次的大學英語四級翻譯題目相比之前的傳統文化類翻譯要簡單一些。因為讀書對于考生來說是一個相對熟悉的話題，而且全文在表述方面也沒有什么難的詞匯，考生只要組織好句型結構，盡量多使用一些句型，基本上就可以翻譯出一篇很地道且高質量的譯文。
