1. 最常見錯誤：從句連接詞缺失，最主要的是THERE BE句型：

　　There is a saying goes ... [應為There is a saying which goes ...]

　　There are many people think that... [應為There are many people who think that...或者直接說Many people think that...]

　　It's the major thing affects people's friendship. [少了一個that]

　　When we have difficulty, someone helps you right away is the real friend. [少了一個who]

　　2. NO MATTER / WHETHER錯誤，這是英語專業學生最容易犯的另一類錯誤：

　　Friendship is important for no matter rich people or poor people. [宜改為Friendship is possible, whether for rich people or for poor people. "no matter"后面必須接一個小句(主語、謂語完整)]

　　3. C語類重復。所謂C語類是個句法用語，用于引導一個完整的小句，起標志作用，如that/whether等等：

　　People are not sure that whether... [that一詞多余]

　　4. LACK / LACKING

　　似乎受漢語語感的影響，多數英語學生似乎認為lack是形容詞，所以時常說is lack of...

　　5. 邏輯域錯誤。這個應該不難判斷，但還是經常出錯：

　　If people become friends, both of them won't care about money... [可改為neither of them care about money...]

　　其他：

　　語義重復

　　In my opinion, I agree with the view that... [agree一詞本身就表示說話人的觀點，可將In my opinion去掉，或把后面的一半改為the view that... is right]

　　share many common interests [common與share屬同義反復，可改為have many common interests或share many interests]

　　論斷過于絕對，缺乏足夠思考

　　A person with good finance will not understand why his poor friend gets on a sardine-jam like bus and always choose to dine at some poor-condition restaurant at the roadsides... [相信富人也不至于笨到這個程度]

　　句義嚴重反復，缺乏變化

　　Some people believe that financial disparity affects friendship. Some believe that financial disparity doesn't affect friendship. For my part, I agree with the latter, because financial disparity doesn't affect friendship. [不必多說了]

　　連詞錯誤

　　It is not difficult to imagine if those rich people have some poor friends with common interests. [if一詞顯然應該是that，不過更通順的說法應該是It is not difficult to imagine rich people having some poor friends with similar interests.]

　　不會使用照應語

　　We won't ask people whether they have much money or not when making friends with other people. [people和other people顯然應該是同指關系，后面的other people應改為them才對]

　　作文是對語言的綜合運用，可以集中體現出學習者的基本功和思維能力;語感非常重要，不過要形成好的語感還需要長期的反復訓練。過去指導英語專業大四學生畢業論文，每屆都發現有不少已經過了TEM8的英語專業學生的語言能力有明顯缺陷。寫作能力必須建立在大量閱讀、用心感受和無數次練習的基礎上，對此曾對學生反復講過多次，不過由于無法立竿見影，多數學生不能很好地堅持，很是遺憾。
