b)在口語和非正式場合中，when, where和why或相當于關系副詞的“介詞+which”的結構可以用that 代替，并且可以省略。

　　The last time (that) I saw her was a fine morning in July.我見到她的最后一次是七月的一個陽光明媚的早晨。

　　This is the reason (that) he was absent yesterday.這就是他昨天缺席的理由。

　　c) 雖然先行詞是表示時間、地點或原因的名詞，但是關系詞在句中不是充當狀語，而是充當主語、賓語等，就不能用when, where, 和why.也就是說選擇關系詞與主句中的語法地位無關，主要看代替先行詞的關系詞在從句中擔任的成分，其次在看先行詞表示的是人、物、時間、地點還是原因。
