4.感謝信(Letter of Thanks)

　　感謝信的主要目的是向收信人表明感激之情，其寫作要點如下：

　　(1) 首先要表明寫作意圖，向對方表示誠摯的謝意;

　　(2) 簡要說明感謝的原因，語言要誠摯;

　　(3) 官方感謝信須行文得體，非官方感謝信較隨意;

　　(4) 結尾再次表明感激之情。

　　【例文1】

　　Directions:

　　Suppose you�餽e a customer. After your shopping, you found yourself in trouble. The salesperson came and helped you. Write a letter to the manager to express your gratitude in about 100 words.

　　Dear Mr.Wells,

　　Our family has shopped at your supermarket for several years. The quality of the food has been consistently good, the prices reasonable, and the staff friendly and helpful.

　　One of your employees is particularly outstanding, and I thought I�餯 drop you a line and say a word on his behalf.

　　Freddy, who bags groceries and brings them out to the car, frequently goes out of his way to help. Yesterday he had finished loading my car and was heading back to the store. I tried to pull out but found myself stuck in the snow. When he heard my wheels spinning, Freddy came back and gave me a push. That certainly beat calling a tow truck!

　　It�餾 nice to find someone these days who�餾 willing to go that extra mile to please a customer. That young man will go far in life.
