　　其次，問自己是否知道這句話中每一個單詞的成分和上下修飾關系。比如說，還是modify這個詞吧。要知道to modify…是一個不定式短語，modify后面還帶了賓語“環境”。這個不定式短語修飾“能力”，可以翻譯到中心詞前：“有改造環境的能力”，但是由于modify的賓語“環境”后面帶了定于從句，所以，最好把這個不定式短語直接翻譯在后面，即：人類有能力去改造…。
