　　近期很多考生問關于條件狀語從句的分析和翻譯問題，在此，老師結合同學提出的兩個典型問題為大家分析條件狀語從句，并給出相應的參考譯文。

　　一、 問題：請分析并翻譯：If you are part of the group which you are addressing, you will be in a position to know the experiences and problems which are common to all of you and it’ll be appropriate for you to make a passing remark about the inedible canteen food or the chairman’s notorious bad taste in ties.

　　解析：很多考生看到這樣一句從橫三、四行的長句會心生畏懼，對自己沒有信心，自然也就無法理清這句中的各種枝節。拿到這樣的一個句子，最主要的仍然是先把主干找到，然后再看其他部分和主干的關系。

　　句子主干：you will be in a position to know the experiences and problems and it’ll be appropriate for you to make a passing remark about the inedible canteen food or the chairman’s notorious bad taste in ties

　　主干是由兩個并列的分句組成的，第一個分句是you will be in a position to know the experiences主系表結構，第二個分句是it’ll be appropriate for you to make a passing remark about the inedible canteen food or the chairman’s notorious bad taste in ties形式主語+系表結構+不定式作真正的主語。

　　which are common to all of you作the experiences and problems的定語從句。

　　If you are part of the group which you are addressing是主句的條件狀語從句，其中嵌套定語從句which you are addressing作the group的定語從句。

　　參考譯文：如果你是談話對象集體中的一員，就可以設身處地地了解你們所有人共同的經歷和問題，可以對食堂難吃的食物或者對領導在選擇領帶方面差勁的品味評頭論足。

　　二、 問題：請詳細分析一下：If railroads charged all customers the same average rate, they argue, shippers who have the option of switching to trucks or other forms of transportation would do so, leaving remaining customers to shoulder the cost of keeping up the line.

　　解析：按照原句的順序來看，這句話的前半句，if railroads charged all customers the same average rate是if引導的條件狀語從句，they argue前后用逗號隔開顯然是個插入語，那么整句話的難點就落在了后半句上。首先，shippers后面出現了關系代詞who引導的定語從句who have the option of switching to trucks or other forms of transportation，主句的謂語是would do so, 其中so指代switching to trucks or other forms of transportation，最后一部分 leaving remaining customers to shoulder the cost of keeping up the line是現在分詞短語作主句的結果狀語。

　　參考譯文：他們認為，如果鐵路對所有的客戶收取同樣的平均費率，那么可以選擇使用公路運輸或其他運輸方式的托運商會選擇其他的運輸方式，讓其他的客戶承擔鐵路運營成本。

　　從以上兩個長難句的分析可以看出，條件狀語從句位于句首時，考生完全可以按照英文句子順序往下讀，逐層分析，在翻譯時，也可以把條件從句放到主句前面，這和中文的表述方式是一致的。考生在做考研英語此類題時要做的就是克服自己對長句的恐懼，只有親身實踐去分析，才能真正領會和掌握句子分析方法。Practice makes perfect! 堅持練習一定能取得好成績!
