　　I would like to thank you for arranging to meet with me for an interview on Monday, January 6th, 2014 at 10:00 am.

　　Unfortunately, I have recently been diagnosed with a serious ear infectionwhich will require surgery on the same day as our interview. I am sorry to say that I will therefore not be able to make the interview and apologize for any inconveniences this may cause you. If possible, I would like to postpone the interview for another day later in the week. I promise that such a thing does not usually happen.
