六、倫理道德類(尊老、愛幼、愛心)

　　倫理 ethics , moral principle

　　Senior citizens long for a more predictable and secure future .

　　老年人渴望有一個更穩定、更可預見的未來。

　　Most elderly people notice that their sleep is interrupted by other changes in their bodies .

　　大部分老年人已經注意到身體上的變化常常防礙他們的睡眠。

　　There was social intercourse between the old and the young .

　　老年人與年輕人之間有社會交往。

　　逃避責任 shirk the duty , shun the responsibilities

　　Today , however , many young people not only shirk this duty , but insist that it is actually the duty of parents to do all they can to care for them, even as adults .

　　然而當今，許多年輕人不僅逃避這種責任，還堅持認為父母實際上有義務盡己所能照顧他們，即使他們已經成年。

　　To begin with , relevant laws and regulations should be made to severely punish those who shun the responsibilities of caring their parents .

　　一方面，我們應該制定相關的法律法規嚴懲那些逃避養老責任的人。

　　虐待 mistreatment , be ill-treated , be neglected , be reduced to utter poverty

　　The prisoners rioted against mistreatment by sadistic guards .

　　囚犯因不堪忍受獄警施虐而發動了暴亂。

　　中國文化傳統美德 traditional virtue of Chinese culture

　　Filial duty is the traditional virtue and the main content of the Chinese traditional culture .

　　孝道是中華民族的傳統美德和中華傳統文化的核心。

　　經濟支持 financially support

　　Finally the national policy to manage and financially support the agriculture long-term research should be designed and conducted .

　　國家需要制定和實施穩定農業長期試驗研究的管理和經費支持政策。

　　嚴厲懲罰 severely punish

　　We should severely punish tax-dodging crime because it endangers the tax administration system seriously .

　　偷稅犯罪嚴重危害稅收征管秩序，應予以重點打擊。

　　培養意識 cultivate the awareness

　　In addition , we should cultivate the awareness of the young that respecting the old has always been the traditional virtue of Chinese culture .

　　另一方面，我們應該培養人們的意識：尊老是中華文化的傳統美德。

　　遏制不良現象 curb evil phenomenon

　　Only in this way can we curb the current evil phenomenon revealed in the picture .

　　只有這樣我們才能制止圖畫中所顯示的這種丑惡現象。

　　七、環境類(環保、節能)

　　霧霾 haze

　　The market for dust masks and air purifiers is booming in Beijing because the capital has been shrouded for several days in thick fog and haze .

　　近幾日北京持續被濃重霧霾籠罩，市場上防塵口罩和空氣凈化器的銷量劇增。

　　工業化 industrialization

　　I think nobody will disagree ( that ) pollution is a by-product of industrialization.

　　污染是工業化的一個副產品，我想沒人會不同意這看法的。

　　空氣污染指數 air pollution index

　　The annual average of the air pollution index ( API ) showed a decrease tendency in recent 3 years , and put forward the air pollution preventing and curing countermeasures .

　　空氣污染指數(API)年平均值近三年間均有下降趨勢，并針對空氣污染提出了相應整改措施。

　　橙色預警 orange alert

　　The Central Station ( CMS ) yesterday morning extended the warning of a strong cold spell and snowstorms by issuing an orange alert , the second-highest level .

　　中央氣象臺昨天上午發布了強冷空氣和暴雪預警，將預警級別提高到了二級橙色預警級別。

　　懸浮顆粒物 airborne particulate matter

　　Long-term exposure to airborne particulate matter reduces lung function and increases the risk of getting lung cancer .

　　長期暴露于空氣中的浮粒污染物可引致浮粒滯留在肺中，并減低肺功能及增加肺癌的風險。

　　有毒物質 toxic substance

　　空氣質量檢測 air quality monitoring

　　All large and medium-sized Chinese cities will have greater air quality monitoring by 2010 .

　　截止到2010年前，我國所有大、中城市的空氣質量監督機制將會再邁上一個臺階。

　　有害空氣污染物 hazardous airborne pollutant

　　防塵口罩 anti-dust gauze mask

　　能見度低 low visibility
