　　The past years have witnessed a mounting number of Chinese scholars returning from overseas. As is lively illustrated by the column chart, the number of returnees climbed from a mere 69.3 thousand in 2008 to over 272.9 thousand in 2012, at an annual increase rate of around 50%.

　　A multitude of factors may have led to the tendency revealed by the chart, but the following are the critical ones from my perspective. First and foremost, along with the development of Chinese economy and society, the number of Chinese studying abroad has been soaring in the past years, which has provided an expanding base for the number of returnees. In the second place, the government has enacted a series of preferential policies to attract overseas Chinese scholars back home. Last but not least, the booming economy, science and technology in this country have generated more attractive job opportunities for scholars returning from overseas.

　　The waves of returnees will definitely contribute to this nation's development, since they have brought back not only advanced science and technology but also pioneering concepts of education and management. With more scholars coming back from overseas, and with the concerted efforts of the whole nation, we have reasons to expect a faster rejuvenation of this country.

　　The line chart depicts that the percentage of those aged over 60 increased moderately from 6% of the total population in 1990 to 15% in 2010 in China. It is predicted that the proportion will amount to 25% in 2020 and 30% in 2040.

　　Quite a few factors can account for this phenomenon, but the following might be the critical ones: for one thing, with the implementation of China's family planning policy and the improvement of people's living standard, fewer and fewer people are willing to have more children. Therefore, the birth rate has dramatically dropped, which results in a low proportion of youngsters and a higher proportion of elders. For another, due to the fact that more hospitals are equipped with advanced medical instruments and more professional staffs, many incurable diseases now can be easily cured. As a result, the public can enjoy an increased life span, adding to the growing proportion of old people.

　　The aging of the population is also a result of social progress and economic development. However, this phenomenon will be likely to bring about some undesirable consequences in the future. Hence it is high time that we figured out some ways to face the up-coming challenges.

　　As is exhibited by the bar chart，the proportion of the students having psychological problems experienced dramatic changes. To be specific, there had been a steady ascendance from roughly 3.5% in 2005 to approximately 8.5% in 2011，which was accompanied by the amazing increase in 2014，surging to above 14%.

　　There are numerous reasons accounting for the phenomenon. The first is that people in the modern world are being confronted with great pressure from work and life. Being depressed for a long time, people will face some problems in mental health, which will pose a severe threat to them and have a negative influence on their daily life and work. To be a healthy person, mental health seems to be more important. Besides, from the social perspective, with all citizens being in good health, a society will have better work force with higher efficiency and will be able to harvest more fruits produced by its people.

　　Accordingly, we should first be open with people. Talk with your family and your friends when you meet some difficulties. Secondly, we should be sympathetic. Since we are a part of a society, we ought to be concerned with it. With the combination of these efforts，the pressure of psychology can be eliminated gradually.
